Collaborative Research Project to
Analyze Gene Function Using Rice Full-length cDNAs

Plant Functional Genomics Research Group, the National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS) and the Research Institute for Biological Sciences Okayama (RIBS) reached an agreement to collaborate the research to rapidly identify the function of rice genes by using rice full-length cDNAs whose base sequences have been determined (by the Genome Exploration Research Group, along with the NIAS and the Foundation for Advancement of International Science), and the full-length cDNA highly expressive gene hunting system (FOX hunting system) developed by RIKEN. The collaboration, which is a part of post-rice genome research project, is expected to accelerate the elucidation of the function of rice genes.
